Thursday, December 8 is designated a National Crime Prevention Day of Action and will focus on Retail Security. The focus in Kilkenny will be to raise awareness among the public and retailers as to the threat of theft while shopping. Crime Prevention Information on personal security and car security will be imparted by An Garda Siochana in various retail locations, and car parks of retail parks and units. As a lead into the operation, a retail security forum aimed at retailers and managers will be held by An Garda Siochana and Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce. This will take place at The Pembroke Hotel on Tuesday morning December 6 from 8.30am to 9.30am.
