It was a kindly gesture from one Kilkenny craft butcher to another, keeping alive a popular local gourmet delight.
As readers know, the iconic Whites Butchers on Rose Inn Street closed earlier this month. But before he locked the doors for the last time, Paddy White gifted the recipe for his famous stuffing to a fellow butcher – John Joe Cullen on Rose Inn Street.
The kindly gesture ensures that Paddy’s old customers can still get the delicious stuffing they have enjoyed for years – and just in time for Christmas too.
John Joe took to Facebook today to thank Paddy for his generosity in passing on the recipe.
