Christmas has come a little early for a number of Kilkenny charities thanks to the kindness of an anonymous donor.
A business man has handed out a large number of cheques, each for E10,000, to organisations across the city and county which help others. The Fr McGrath Centre on Joseph's Road and Cois Nore on Walkin Street are among the recipients.
The successful philanthropist has made only one stipulation - That his name never be mentioned.
It is not clear how many groups have benefited but at this stage it's thought to be up to around 50.
Originally from Dublin he has helped dozens of groups and individuals and all because he felt it was the right thing to do.
