TD John Paul Phelan - Kilkenny Youth Clubs should apply for new funding

Local Kilkenny TD John Paul Phelan is urging Kilkenny youth clubs to apply for new grants now under the new €1.7 million fund announced by the Minister of Children and Youth Affairs, Dr Katherine Zappone.

Mr. Phelan commented on the topic by saying  “This year’s Local Youth Club Grant Scheme will see €46,631 allocated to the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB) for local volunteer led youth groups.

John Paul continued by saying "Youth clubs are part of the fabric of communities here in Kilkenny and must be supported. Amazing work is being done by lead groups, including those in and around Kilkenny city and elsewhere such as Graiguenamanagh.

Mr. Phelan concluded by saying "I encourage clubs and groups to apply, no matter how new or small they are. Each ETB will be advertising the scheme locally and on their website in the coming months. So I encourage all Kilkenny youth groups to keep an eye out and get their applications ready.”
