Kilkenny Castle is set to light up green this May Bank Holiday weekend April 27 to May 1 to get people talking about mental health. It is all part of See Change's 5th national Green Ribbon campaign.
See Change is a national programme run in cooperation with over seventy organisations to battle the negative stigma around discussing peoples mental health.
The Green Ribbon Campaign, run by See Change, aims to encourage people to talk about thier mental health by running hundreds of events throughout the country during the month of May.
Between now and the end of May over 500,000 green ribbons will be distributed to communities, workplaces, schools and colleges.
Speaking about the various light up events that will occur throughout the country, director of See Change, John Saunders says, “Its wonderful too see local initiatives encouraging posititve conversations. It's very important that we all play our part to end the silence around mental health issues.”
Events will take place across Kilkenny throughtout the month and Green Ribbons will be available for free from the following locations
Boots High St, Kilkenny
Boots at McDonagh Junction and from Taxi Watch taxies.
