Comedian Dom Irrera.

An open-air screening of The Big Lebowski is to take place in the grounds of St Kieran’s College in Kilkenny as part of the Cat Laughs comedy festival.

Happenings Summer Cinema with 7UP are screening the film as part of the festival, and it’s shaping up to be a memorable evening. ‘Star' of the movie Dom Irrera will be there for a Q&A beforehand; the Cat Laughs stalwart makes a memorable appearance in the Coen brothers classic.

It will hopefully be a pleasant June evening, but filmgoers should wrap up warm and wear weatherproof clothing (dressing gowns are also welcome). Some seating will be provided, but it’s advisable to bring your own.

There will be food, coffee and treats available on the night, as well as some pre-screening surprises.

The event takes place on Thursday, June 1 at St Kieran’s College. Gates are open from 8.30pm with the Q&A taking place at 9pm and the film kicking off around half an hour later when it gets dark. Tickets are €5 from www.happenings.ie.
