Kilkenny Castle and Canal Walk closed to the public due to Royal visit

Gardaí will remain at Kilkenny Castle and the Canal Walk until after the Royal Visit ends tomorrow

Kilkenny Castle and the Canal Walk will remain closed to the public until after the Royal visit tomorrow as final security checks are being carried out.

Gardaí are carrying out final security checks today and will maintain a presence at both the Canal Walk and Kilkenny Castle.

A number of streets including High Street and Rose Inn Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5am tomorrow.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are expected to arrive at Kilkenny Castle at 10.30am and will visit the twice Oscar-nominated animation studio, Cartoon Saloon before going to the Grennan Mill Craft School in Thomastown.
