Royal Visit: Quiet sense of anticipation around the streets of Kilkenny

Four ladies from Wales await the Royal visit.

Pictured are a group of four Welsh ladies who have travelled over to Kilkenny specially for the occasion of the royal visit.

The royal couple are expected shortly, and there is a quiet sense of anticipation along High Street and through the city this morning. A large Garda presence is in place, and the main streets are flanked by crowd barriers.

All people are welcome to visit Kilkenny City and will be facilitated to view the visit. Security will be tight and people coming to view the visit are asked to arrive in good time, and not to carry large bags as these items will not be permitted in certain areas.

People going about their daily business will be facilitated but some minor delays may be experienced.
