ROAD ALERT: Kilkenny's St Francis Bridge closed due to gas leak

Council has issued an alert this evening

St Francis Bridge - the new Central Access Scheme bridge in Kilkenny City - is currently closed this evening due to a gas leak.

Kilkenny County Council has issued an alert advising all road users to use the Castlecomer Road, New Road and Greens Bridge. Traffic exiting the city via Irishtown are advised to use Dean Street, Granges Road and Freshford Road.

Kilkenny County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused. It is not yet known when the bridge will be reopened.
