In January 2001 Dreamstuff Youth Theatre first saw the light of day with their production of Monty Python’s Life of Brian in the Watergate Theatre.
In the next ten years the group staged twenty productions and produced numerous young stage and film actors like John Morton, Rory Fleck-Byrne, John Doran, Peter O’Connor, Amy Dunne, Niamh Moroney, Eddie Murphy and Kevin Mooney.
Some of the above went on to create the amazing Devious Theatre (with fellow Dreamstuff members Angela Walsh and our original Brian, Ken McGuire).
Now for something completely different! Seventeen years later, almost to the day, Dreamstuff Youth Theatre is once again opening its doors again to offer young people a new kind of theatre experience. They’re looking for teenagers who are willing, and brave enough, to work with other young people to create a new play devised from their own ideas and imagination.
All teenagers are welcome, no auditions, no fees and no experience required.
If you like the idea of creating your own play, and are interested in finding out more, you are invited to a free drama workshop in Young Irish Film Makers on the Waterford Road this Friday 1 January 19 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
If you, or your parent, require further information you can contact Mike Kelly at email@example.com
