The stylish girls of Danesfort are coming out in force to help to raise funds for an ambitious project which will see a major overhaul of Danesfort GAA Club’s facilities catapulting the local GAA Club into the state-of-the-art status, a source of pride to all the members.
With an eye for style and a determination to raise funds for their much-loved local GAA club, the ladies of the club are coming together to create a fabulous, fashion event for a gorgeous girls night out – Say Yes To The Dress!
Fashionistas from across the county are invited to come along to Say Yes To The Dress with a pre-loved dress or handbag to offer as a donation to the event. These quality items will be sold and the funds raised will go towards a major renovation project taking place at Danesfort GAA Club.
The event is being hosted in Danesfort Community Hall and entrance with a dress and/or handbag to the event is €5 however, ladies are more than welcome to attend to simply buy! Entrance without a donation is €10. Bring along as many dresses or bags as you can part with!
Fiona Fennelly, Chairperson of the Fashion Events Committee says, “We are very excited about this event which has already been sparking huge interested amongst the ladies in our community. We are all involved in our local GAA club in some way and we are eager to help out with this fundraising drive to build the new facilities and give our club the facelift it requires. Everyone loves a bargain and us ladies love our style so this event is the perfect opportunity to get a stylish bargain at knock-down prices while supporting an excellent cause.”
All of the beautiful dresses and bags will be on sale at bargain prices. To date, dresses donated to the cause include a number of Ted Baker dresses, Diane Von Furstenburg and Almost Famous to name a few of the designer trends on offer. Dresses can be donated at any time up to and including the night of the event, however the preference would be prior to the event to facilitate presentation/pricing etc.
Of course this is a fun, social event and guests are welcome to bring along some refreshments of their choice (wine, nibbles, soft drinks etc). The event will take place at Danesfort Community Centre on February 10th at 8pm. All are welcome to attend – bring a friend and a dress or bag and enjoy a great night with the girls of Danesfort GAA Club, while raising much-needed funds for the new pitches, club-house, bar, gym and shop facilities.
Collection of donated dresses/bags can be arranged pre the event - Like 'Danesfort News' on Facebook for updates/pictures of dresses donated for the event.
The girls of the parish are also organising a Fashion Show which is taking place in Langtons Hotel on February 28 next and will include a fashion extravaganza featuring the beautiful boutiques and stylish stores of Kilkenny city and county. Tickets are available at participating shops.
