A local florist has won the regional award for 'Florist of the Year' at the prestigious Irish Wedding Awards, which took place in Dublin recently.

Orla Clare was a finalist at the blacktie ceremony awards night, as well as taking the prize for the south-east region. Orla, along with her family, runs Soah Flowers - a flower farm and floral design studio based in Threecastles. The company specialises in supplying local and sustainably grown flowers for weddings, events and special occasions.

"We were absolutely thrilled to win this award both as a Kilkenny business and for the Flower Farmers Of Ireland – an organisation which we helped to establish last year," said Orla.

Established in 2015, Soah Flowers began selling cut flowers at the weekly farmer’s market on The Parade in Kilkenny and providing flowers for a few local weddings. The business has been expanding ever since, and now has our flowers on sale in shops in Kilkenny and Dublin, along with an online shop and thriving wedding portfolio.

The Irish Wedding Awards aim to celebrate the work and commitment of the Irish wedding industry, and recognise those who go above and beyond to make a couple’s special day the best experience it can possibly be.
