Kilkenny hurling star Walter Walsh is brand ambassador for Michael Lyng Hyundai in Kilkenny  - read his exclusive review on the Hyundai Tucson SE.

"I am privileged to drive the Hyundai Tucson SE. This car exudes quality and it’s easy to see how it is yet again Ireland’s number one selling car. The first thing that struck me when collecting my new 181 were the impressive 19” alloy wheels and the classy white finish.

"The Tucson’s steering is light enough to make parking a breeze and parking becomes even more effortless with the reversing sensors and camera. The steering weights up enough on the motorway to make those journeys from Tullogher to training steady and comfortable. I find that after a long drive my muscles aren’t stiff or tired which is primarily aided by the cruise control feature which I always use back and forth to training.

"My Tucson’s manual gearbox is light and smooth. It’s hard to believe that it’s a 1.7-litre diesel engine because of its incredible power that generates an excellent fuel economy. Having enough space and leg room is essential for me and the Tucson ticks those boxes with a wide range of seat adjustments and the steering column moves for both height and reach. This SE spec Tucson has leather heated seats which makes driving to work much easier on these cold mornings of late. The controls are straight forward to use and complement the elegant interior. The rear seats are spacious and the big boot is a must for me.

"One of my favourite features of this car is Apple CarPlay. With Apple CarPlay I can make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music, all in a way that keeps me safe and focused on the road. All I have to do is connect my iPhone and go. It also allows me to get directions by connecting to Apple Maps using the touchscreen before I drive or using Siri voice control or with the knobs, dials, and buttons on the steering wheel when driving. Messages I receive are read out using Siri voice control and I can reply using the same feature.

"With a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty this offer seems too good to be true. The Tucson also comes with five years AA roadside assistance and complimentary vehicle health checks. This, in conjunction with the five-year warranty, is a far better deal than offered by many rivals, most of whom only supply three-year, 60,000-mile warranties.

"I can’t recommend this car enough and I am proud to be Hyundai brand ambassador for Michael Lyng Motors."
