Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €4,000 was seized from a property on Barrack Street during a planned search on Wednesday.
Gardaí obtained a search warrant and also seized drugs-related paraphernalia.
A man in his twenties was arrested and questioned at Kilkenny Garda Station. He was subsequently released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
