Grennan College in Thomastown is to get a new four-classroom extension, local TD and Minister of State John Paul Phelan has said.

The extension will also include four toilets and the replacement of a prefab.

“I’m delighted to see Grennan College get their extension. Numbers at the highly regarded school have been growing and the classrooms will be a big bonus to the popular school," said Minister of State Phelan.

“This announcement follows hot on the heels of several school investment projects in the city and county and shows this government’s commitment to providing pupils, their teachers, principals, parents and the wider school community with the best possible facilities.”

Separately, funding has also been approved for emergency fire safety works at CBS secondary school in Kilkenny City.
