Art at Rudolf Heltzel's for Kilkenny Arts Festival

A piece of work by Pam Harris which will be on display in her exhibition at at the Rudolf Heltzel Gallery, Patrick Street, Kilkenny during the arts festival

Pam Harris is an abstract artist, using oil on canvas. She has been exhibiting her work in solo exhibitions over the past 30 years, and her work is included in many important Public and Private Collections.
The paintings she has selected for the Kilkenny Arts Festival exhibition at the Rudolf Heltzel Gallery on Patrick Street convey a sense of peacefulness and calm. As with other series of her work, she places a smaller canvas within a larger one to express the concept of inherent unity and dependence between objects of varying scales and ratios (eg. 'Us' on 'Earth', or a 'Planet' in 'the Universe').
John Daly, Director of Hillsboro Fine Art, quoted painter Carl Andre when writing about Pam's work - "Stillness, silence and peace are treasures which our mass culture is endlessly trying to steal from us and destroy. If my work offers a sense of order, peace and stillness to anyone, then it has succeeded"

The exhibition runs from August 9 to 19 at the Rudolph Heltzel Gallery on Patrick Street as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival.
