Gardai remain at the scene of a fatal house fire in Knocktopher.
Gardai were alerted at approximately 7pm this evening to the fatal house fire.
A man in his 70's died in the fire.
The State pathologist has been informed of the fatality.
Gardai are preserving the scene and have carried out a technical examination.
No one else was injured in the incident.
Anyone who may have been passing the area at the relevant time is asked to contact the gardai Thomastown on 056 7754150.
