Eilis and Sarah Gough on Owning Hill, Kilkenny
A Kilkenny, family-run, environmentally friendly company has won a major award for one of its products.
Mileeven established on Owning Hill, near Piltown in 1988 by Eilis Gough won a gold star for Aldi’s Kilcree Gold Manuka MGO 100 honey at the Great Taste Awards in London last week.
Aldi won a total of 34 titles at the 2018 Awards for everything from its protein bars to vodka, bringing the total number of Great Taste Awards for Aldi products to 339 since 2010. Many of this year’s winning Aldi products are sourced from market-leading Irish suppliers.
“Congratulations to Eilis and Sarah Gough and their team for such a high international success with their honey products on behalf of Aldi,” Aldi Ireland’s Group Buying Director Finbar McCarthy said.
Mileeven is still run by Eilis and her daughter, Sarah and is one of the leading honey suppliers in Ireland.
Our range increased to include other honeys as well as Irish honey like Manuka honey, Organic honey, Pure honey, Lavender honey but staying true to the quality that is good for the bees and great for taste!
