County Hall in Kilkenny: Fifteen minutes will be allotted to each candidate

Six hopefuls for the Presidential Election will make their case before the members of Kilkenny County Council at a specially convened meeting next week.

It will afford potential candidates for the upcoming Presidential election the opportunity to present to and engage with local councillors. Fifteen minutes will be allotted to each candidate, who have been advised that this means they have roughly eight minutes to present and seven minutes to take questions.

The candidates are: Senator Joan Freeman, artist/activist Kevin Sharkey, businessman Gavin Duffy, James P Smyth, and farmer John Groarke. An as yet unnamed individual will be representing the William Delaney (1957-1970) campaign.

The meeting will take place at County Hall on Friday, August 31 at 3.30pm.
