Kilkenny man, Bobby Kerr has ruled himself out of the race for the Irish presidency. The 58-year-old took to Twitter to announce that he would not be throwing his hat in the ring for the Aras.

The former MD of the Newpark Hotel on the city's Castlecomer Road  came under a lot of pressure over the last few days to let his name go forward but after consulting with friends and family decided against it.
