Kilkenny music fans urged to attend charity fundraiser

CRY Ireland (Cardiac Risk in the Young) are hosting a fundraiser in Lennon's of Durrow at 9pm on Saturday 13th October.
The fundraiser is being produced by 2 bands; Diamond Dogs playing a tribute to David Bowie music, followed by Us and Them, a Pink Floyd tribute of Dark Side of the Moon.

The experienced collaboration of musicians have been rehearsing for this event for 6 months for what promises to be a very special musical and visual night.

CRY is a charity that identifies and supports those that have been diagnosed with SADS (Sudden Adult Death) conditions. CRY is a very worthy charity that wholly relies on donations to exist.

The Dark Side of the Moon resonates the event by beginning with the pulse of a human heart beat. The theme of the album is human plight, life and death. 42 mins and 28 seconds later, the musical feast ends with the final pulse of a human heartbeat.

This fundraising event is the brain child of Mark Shiels, whose son was diagnosed at the age of 17 with a SADS condition and is keeping very well. They were very fortunate that the SADS condition was diagnosed early, as knowledge is key. His wife was subsequently diagnosed with the same genetic condition through CRY.

Tickets are available for €10 in various venues in O'Malleys in Rathdowney, Anthem Music in Portlaoise or at the door on the night.

Please support the event, and help CRY to prevent Cardiac Risk in the Young from happening. For more information, head to their Facebook page
