A Kilkenny mixed martial arts fighter who previously sparred with UFC star Conor McGregor helped his victorious rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in the buildup to Saturday’s big fight in Las Vegas.
Myles Price (pictured here with Khabib) trained with the Dagestani fighter in preparation for the lightweight title clash at UFC 229. Although he is from Kilkenny and lived here up until recently, Myles is currently based over in sunny San Jose, California, where he is training.
In an interview with MMA channel Eurobash, Myles observed that McGregor’s inflammatory and brash persona was costing him some fans at home. Ahead of the fight, Myles revealed he had never got on particularly well with McGregor.
He also (correctly) predicted the Irishman would struggle against his hard-grappling opponent, and that Khabib would emerge the winner.
