Fr Peter McVerry will launch Janet E Sahafi's new novel on Wednesday in Kilkenny
Fr Peter McVerry, well-known for his work on behalf of the homeless, will be in Kilkenny city next Wednesday to launch a new novel by Kilkenny author and psychotherapist Janet E Sahafi (nom de plume Janet O'Rourke). This book launch will be held in Langton's Ballroom at 8pm. And members of the public are very welcome.
The novel 'Savoir' is about an Irish family and is set, half in Ireland and half in France focusing on how one desperate action can destroy or save the life of a whole family.
Many of the themes in the book would be familiar to Fr McVerry from his work. Lisa Morris, Amber Women's Refuge and Ruth Butler of Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre will speak briefly at the event. The novel is one of hope as the family deals with difficult challenges and choices and find their own way out and through to a better life.
