EXCLUSIVE - Kilkenny city and Freshford voting at historic low in a national election

Shocking turnout

Only five and a half hours left to vote

Voting takes place between 7am and 10pm today

Voting in the presidential election is at a historic low in Kilkenny city and county. At 4.18pm just 13% of the electorate in Freshford had voted. If this trend continues it will be the lowest ever turn out for a national election in the picturesque village.

Kilkenny CBS primary school polling station is worse and the figure there was 10% at 4pm.

St John's national school in the city is at 14% at 4.15pm.
