Counting of votes for Carlow Kilkenny constituency
Thanks to a strong showing in larger urban areas, Michael D Higgins seems to have a commanding 12,000 vote lead over his nearest challenger Peter Casey in the Carlow Kilkenny constituency.
The blasphemy referendum is likely to be passed comfortably in the constituency.
