Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating a violent assault which took place in the city centre in the early hours of Sunday evening.
The incident took place at St Mary's Lane in the early hours of October 28 when a 26-year-old male was kicked in the face. The injured party received a number of broken bones in the face and was detained at St Luke's Hospital.
The assault took place at 1.15am. Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward in confidence and to contact Kilkenny gardaí on (056) 7775000.
