Christmas has come early this year in Kilkenny

Following Visit Kilkenny’s successful bid to become Ireland’s Top Foodie Destination 2018, Chef Neven Maguire and his production team will be filming their RTE Christmas Special across the city and county this week.

Lovers of Christmas will be thanking heaven for Neven as the lights on the Parade Plaza will be switched on for four days this week.

For anybody who thinks Christmas may have arrived earlier, don’t worry! The lights are being lit especially for filming from this afternoon up until Thursday, from 4pm to 10pm before being officially switched on in December.

Neven will film in a variety of locations over the coming days in Kilkenny Castle, St Canice’s Cathedral and The Hole in the Wall, to name but a few. Kilkenny is known nationwide for its top notch food and drink producers, with few other counties in the country being able to match its reputation as a foodie destination.
