Canon is here

Newly installed Canon James Mulhall with his family in St Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny

The Reverend James Mulhall is now the Reverend Canon James Mulhall following his appointment by Michael Burrows, Bishop of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.

He was installed as a Canon of St Canice’s Cathedral on Sunday and was joined by family and parishioners on this special occasion.

Appointing him Bishop Burrows spoke of how James’s pastoral ministry has been greatly valued in a variety of parish contexts.

“He also ministers with skill to the whole diocese through his work with Safeguarding Trust and also the resourcing of children’s ministry. We are all greatly in James’s debt and we should never take for granted the ready availability of his professional wisdom," Bishop Burrows said.

The preacher at the event, the Venerable Robin Bantry-White, spoke of how James would bring his skills and insight from the world of social work to his new role as Canon.
