Presenting the cheque to St Luke's Hospital
Kells Angels Cycling Club have successfully raised €5,179 for a very worthy cause close to their hearts. The money was this week donated to the Friends of St Lukes Carlow/Kilkenny, Stroke Unit.
In 2015, Stoneyford man Martin Connolly suffered from an unexpected stroke. Thanks to the generous care from the staff of St Luke's Hospital, Martin was able to make a "miraculous" recovery. In order to thank them, Martin decided to undertake a 100 kilometres cycle to raise funds for the hospital's stroke unit.
He was joined by his friends in local cycling group, Kells Angels.
