New road needed in Kilkenny city to avoid traffic chaos when new CBS school built - Fitzgerald

Detailed design must begin now for a new road in Kilkenny city to avoid traffic chaos when a new school is built.

That's according to Cllr David Fitzgerald who has asked County County planners to commence the detailed design and construction of the Lousybush link road from the Freshford road to the Waterbarracks to serve the new CBS secondary school and housing.

He has insisted that it must be a priority to relieve the traffic congestion on the Freshford road and Granges Road and to ensure that the Dunningstown Road does not become a "Rat Run" when the new CBS is constructed.
