Shrughawadda Players will present their new play The Factory Girls by Frank McGuinness from January 15 to 18, 2019 at 8.15pm in St Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny.

The Factory Girls’ tells the story of five women working in a Donegal shirt factory in 1980s.
Faced with the threat of redundancy and expected to produce work which is unachievable in the time required for poor wages they decide to stage a Lock-In hoping to reclaim power from the men upstairs.
Set in recessionary times of the 1980s industrial unrest is at the core of the play. Competition from the Far East looms over them like a bad penny.
On the 100th anniversary Celebration of the Suffragette Movement, getting the women`s vote passed in 1918 , this play is very relevant to times past and present.
Comedy
There is lots of hilarious comedy in this play as we listen to the banter between the charachters.
Comedy galore as they stage their Lock-In in Mr Rohan’s (B.Comm) office.
Strong women, who realise that you need to stand on your own two feet and take on whatever confronts you.
