Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating two burglaries in the early hours of Sunday morning where a criminal gang raided two businesses within a 30-minute period.
At 3.20am the gang, who were travelling in a grey Audi with false 06 LS plates , hit the Spar in Johnstown. The raiders smashed a side window and stole a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes.
At 3.45am the raiders hit again, this time in neighbouring Urlingford, where they smashed the front window of the Centra shop on the Main Street and stole a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes.
CCTV was obtained and examined and it is understood that three males were involved.
