Langton House Hotel staged its main Wedding Fair event last Sunday as the famed Kilkenny premises opened its doors to engaged couples - and those still considering - to see what one of the country’s top wedding destinations has to offer.
“We had a great day, a great crowd and couples came from all over the country to see what was on offer,” said Eddie Langton, who has been looking back on a very busy and eventul fortnight at the hotel.
“We had a setback Christmas morning, but we got things together and enjoyed hosting 11 weddings over the next ten days from December 27,”- that’s 22 happy couples and their families starting off the New Year and their lives together in Langton’s.
“It wouldn’t have been possible to get up and running straight away without the help and support of our staff, our suppliers and the entire Kilkenny community, we’ll always be indebted for their help and support,” he added, referring to the response to a fire in the kitchen on Christmas morning.
“Last Sunday was another successful Wedding Fair for us, our numbers are up yet again and it’s a testament to the fact that that we can offer couples the most intimate of wedding venues or we can cater for up to 300 guests in our main ballroom.“We pride ourselves on our flexibility in packages, menus, styles - whether that means the use of whatever area of the hotel you wish, like the Set, or the Ballroom, offering bespoke menus, options from when the couple arrive until the end of the night, whatever a couple would like to make their day special, we can do it,” said Eddie.
Basically when you open the front door at Langton’s the entire venue is at your disposal - right in the heart of Kilkenny city.
Of course you can also gain some priceless advice from newly named - Wedding Co-Ordinator of the Year - Sean Read.
Kilkenny is now a wedding destination, said Eddie who remarked that there are many strong options for couples in the city - “And that’s great for Kilkenny, people are coming to our city to check out what we have to offer.”
Langton’s House Hotel host wedding fairs and evenings throughout the year, but the January event is special and all the trades are present - from florists to DJs - indeed anything you need for your wedding.
One venue at the hotel, the Set Theatre is proving to be very popular for civil ceremonies.
