Winners in the Large Estate category at the awards ceremony
Winners of the Kilkenny County Council Tidy Estates Competition received their award at a ceremony at the Parade Tower on Wednesday evening.
Nine estates from across the city and county were publicly praised and congratulated for their endeavours and hard work.
At local level the competition aims to encourage residents to take an active role in improving the physical appearance of their estate.
Winners for the 2018 competition under the Large, Medium & Small Estate Categories were:
Large Estates
1 Woodview, Freshford; 2 Chapelfield, Urlingford; 3
Bellfield Estate, Ferrybank.
Medium Estates
1 St Mary’s Avenue, Urlingford; 2 Brandon Park, Graignamanagh; 3 Assumption Place, Urlingford.
Small Estates
1 Fr Raftice Place, Moneenroe; 2 Ard Aoibheann, Inistioge; 3 Hillcrest, Piltown.
Hard Work
Cathaoirleach Eamon Aylward congratulated all the winners and thanked them for their hard work.
He praised the initiative, which encourages residents to get involved in improving their local area and also encourages people to get to know their neighbour.
