Morgan Ging in Ballykeefe distillery
Picking up where they left off in 2018, Ballykeefe Distillery have added yet another gold to their impressive treasure trove of eleven national and international awards in their first year of operation.
This time their signature Ballykeefe Extra Dry Irish Gin, has won gold at the 2019 World Gin Awards recently held in London.
The World Gin Awards select the very best gins in the internationally recognised gin styles and promote the world’s best gins to consumers and trade across the globe.
Commenting on the award, Morgan Ging, Owner and Managing Director, paid tribute to both Master Distiller Jamie Baggott, the most highly decorated white spirit distiller in the world and the very special copper stills handcrafted by the Barrison Family in Trento, Italy.
“They are a winning combination,” Mr Ging said with a smile.
Kilkenny’s very own Carmel Nolan, who is the Director of Sales & Marketing at Ballykeefe is delighted with the award.
“Gold at the World Gin Awards is the perfect start to the New Year,” she said.
Carmel also pointed out that the Ballykeefe spirit labels have all changed to use sustainable paper.
“It was expensive to change,” she added, “but it was money well spent, given our commitment to environmental protection.”
