Accused: Trevor Rowe
A 29-year-old man has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of a pensioner in her home two years ago.
Trevor Rowe, of Abbey Street, Kilkenny will go on trial after a jury of five women and seven men was sworn before Ms Justice Eileen Creedon.
Mr Rowe is accused of murdering 71-year-old Anne Butler at her home at Maudlin Street, Kilkenny on March 20, 2020. When arraigned today he replied: "Not guilty."
Ms Justice Creedon told the jury that the trial will commence tomorrow (Tuesday) and is likely to last ten days.
