Cash stolen from Kilkenny couple in 'distraction' burglary

Gardaí are investigating

Gardaí are asking people to be vigilant after a distraction burglary in Kilkenny which resulted in the theft of a sum of cash.

A woman called to the door of a couple on Johnswell Road last Monday on the pretext of looking for a cat in the back garden of their home. The couple obliged, helping out with the search. They later discovered a sum of cash missing from their home.

The suspect is described as a non-Irish woman around 19 years of age.

Anyone with any information please contact Kilkenny Garda Station.

Gardaí recommend to always check out the authenticity of anyone calling to your door to be aware of bogus callers.
