The last week of the year has been pretty mixed so far, so what does the New Year weather forecast look like according to our local weather guru?

According to Niall Dollard of Kilkenny Weather, the forecast for the end of 2022 is: " Cool and fair on Thursday. Some rain again overnight will be followed by a bright day for Friday with one or two showers again. Cool on Saturday with some bright spells and one or two showers. Fair on Sunday. Cool at first as we start the New Year but then turning milder."

For December, the mean temperature was well below normal for the first 3 weeks after hard frosts. Rainfall remains well below normal for the month while rainfall for the year so far is also slightly below normal.
