Kilkenny Track Manager full of 'pride' as Kilkenny counts down to Thyestes Day

Gowran Park Track Manager, Eddie Scally

Anticipation is building with Goff Thyestes Day at Gowran Park now less than 24 hours away.

Thousands of spectators will descend on the County Kilkenny venue for a cracking’s day’s racing on Thursday, January 23 with the Thyestes Chase the undoubted highlight.

For the Gowran Park team working hard behind the scenes, the quality jockeys and trainers, including highly esteemed local trainer, Willie Mullins, who will be on show tomorrow and regularly throughout the racing calendar at the racecourse, gives them a 'great sense of pride'.

"We want to see the best horses and the best people coming to Gowran Park," Track Manager, Eddie Scally told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.

"We get a great sense of pride by being part of Gowran Park's history and having something to do with it," Scally said.

"We're lucky he (Willie Mullins) sees Gowran Park as his home pitch," adding, "the two of us go hand in hand together."
