New traffic lights to aid traffic flow around Dean Street in Kilkenny City

New traffic lights that will soon be installed on the Dean Street junction with Irishtown in Kilkenny City will help improve traffic flow in the area.

That was the update provided to city councillors by Area Engineer, Ian Gardner, at the most recent meeting of Kilkenny Municipal District Council.

Speaking during the district's monthly roads update, Mr Gardner told elected members that the new traffic signals at Dean Street would be 'adaptive', with 'sensors to allow more efficient and intelligent traffic flow'.

The update was welcomed by city councillors.
