A beehive was successfully removed from a busy pedestrian thoroughfare in the heart of Kilkenny City yesterday.
Gardaí had been alerted to the hive on John Street by a member of the public.
They quickly sealed off the area until an expert arrived to rehome the bees.
"Unfortunately one of our lads got a nasty sting on his forehead but shrugged it off stoicly stating that it was nothing like as bad as Man Flu," gardaí joked on social media.
