A van was seized for having no insurance at the top of Rose Inn Street in Kilkenny City last Saturday.
Posting to social media, a spokesperson from Kilkenny Gardaí said: "Doesn't matter how you look at it, insurance is compulsory. The Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland which covers the claims arising out of uninsured drivers' collisions estimate that you pay an extra €35 on your premium each year because of people who don't."
"Last Saturday one of our lads seized this van with a court appearance to follow."
