Kilkenny councillor calls for CCTV at Kilkenny Skatepark

Local Green Party representative, Cllr Maria Dollard has made a submission to Environmental Department of Kilkenny County Council requesting CCTV cameras be installed at the Kilkenny Skatepark.

The local councillor believes such action needs to be carried out in order 'to help deal with those who leave the park in a disgraceful state at weekends'.

"Over the last few months, I have been helping monitor the way the Skatepark has been abused by those leaving broken glass and rubbish here at weekends," Cllr Dollard commented.

"Volunteers from Keep Kilkenny Beautiful are committed to helping the skaters keep this under control," she added.

A community clean up will take place at the Kilkenny Skatepark on Thursday, June 6 from 7pm in association with Keep Kilkenny Beautiful, Kilkenny Lions Club and the Kilkenny Skate Community.
