A Popular Kilkenny service has become more expensive in recent days

The cost of using the Kilkenny City bus service has become more expensive as of Monday, June 24.

A new flat town fare of €1.50 for Leap Card users has been introduced with a 40% increase also in place for adult cash payments.

Readers of Kilkenny Live have reacted angrily to the news.

One social media commenter said, "the council is going to have to give us more bus routes and make them actually affordable if they expect us all to ditch our cars by 2030," while another added, "I'd rather walk."
