A preliminary design drawing of the proposed front elevation of the selfie structure intended to frame St John's Bridge and Kilkenny Castle
Under the Fáilte Ireland Urban Animation Scheme, funding was recently awarded to Kilkenny County Council to progress with a 'selfie opportunity' for locals and visitors to Kilkenny City.
Elected members have been informed that Kilkenny County Council intend to proceed with public consultation and planning for a selfie structure at a new 'pocket park' on Bateman Quay, intended to capture Kilkenny Castle in the background.

See below for a preliminary design drawing of the proposed pocket park:
The selfie structure in the new pocket park is intended to have 'Visit Kilkenny' lettering on the front elevation and 'Kilkenny' on the back.
Delivering the pocket park will require some landscaping work, including new paving, on the proposed site.
