A decision is due from Kilkenny County Council by January 16 on an application from Cameo Cinema Limited seeking permission for ‘a change of use of the existing cinema to retail use’.
Further information was recently sought by Kilkenny County Council from Cameo Cinema Limited in relation to the plans - which has been provided by the applicant.
Also sought in the application are internal and external alterations, new external signage and all associated site works.

As the proposals exceed 1,000 sq. m of net floorspace, the applicant has been asked to submit a retail impact assessment assessing the potential impact of same.
The floorspace also required the applicant to submit a traffic and transport assessment.
In addition, the applicant was requested to carry out a parking assessment for the proposed development and a waste management plan including the use of a three bins system for the consideration of the planning authority.
