Two prominent Kilkenny politicians land new high profile roles

The Green Party's Malcom Noonan and Maria Dollard

Two local politicians have been appointed to new roles in the Green Party.

Senator Malcolm Noonan has been named as the party’s new spokesperson for Agriculture, Food, the Marine, Heritage, and Nature.

Party leader Roderic O’Gorman confirmed the appointment, highlighting Noonan’s strong track record on environmental and heritage issues.

The former Carlow-Kilkenny TD previously served as Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform and was elected to the  Agricultural Panel of the Seanad earlier this year.

Meanwhile, councillor in Kilkenny City, Maria Dollard has been named the party’s spokesperson for Disability.

Cllr Dollard has been a disability campaigner and autism advocate for over 25 years.

Amongst her achievements, Ms Dollard established the first autism parents support group in Kilkenny.
