ALERT: Kilkenny County Council confirm local closures due to health concerns

Kilkenny County Council, County Hall

Kilkenny County Council has implemented a temporary bathing prohibition at two prominent swimming locations in Kilkenny.

Swimming at The Weir and at Bishops Meadows is prohibited following advice from Public Health Officials, as a result of failed water quality tests which show high levels of bacteria present in both locations.

Kilkenny County Council has committed to carrying out further tests and investigate the cause of these higher than normal levels.
