RTE broadcaster Marty Whelan made feel at home in Kilkenny City

RTE broadcaster Marty Whelan was in Kilkenny on Thursday morning, as he brought the Kilkenny Arts Festival to the national airwaves.
The former Winning Streak host and Eurovision commentator broadcasted his weekday RTE Lyric FM breakfast show from the Pembroke Hotel in the city.
The festival runs from 7-17 August with a programme of theatre, opera, music, visual arts, literature and discussions. The full programme for Kilkenny Arts Festival 2025 will be announced in June. Tickets for these performances are on sale now from Kilkennyarts.ie
