"Fix it before someone gets killed" - Kilkenny roundabout receives more criticism

One person said: "The whole town is a disaster to drive through especially around school time. Cycle lanes all over the place that no one uses, large buses going around with a couple of passengers on board and anytime they have to drop off anyone it causes a traffic jam."

"Disaster. So dangerous when people go in the wrong lane on purpose and then try to sneak in behind cars coming off the roundabout or go up to the roundabout and go all around it pretending they're heading for Bennettsbridge," another reader claimed.

"Fix it before someone gets killed," another local reader wrote.

In response to Cllr McGuinness' remarks, Senior Roads Engineer with Kilkenny County Council, Stan Cullen confirmed the local authority was 'engaging' with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) who are responsible for the project with a view to making it more driver and pedestrian friendly.
